How strong do hockey goalies need to be and how to get there?
The answer is that hockey goalies need to be strong enough in the basic movement patterns like squats, deadlifts, etc., but where you really transform your performance on the ice as a goaltender is by following functional progressions to build the strength in your hips, legs and torso that you need to stop more pucks.
Here’s how to know when you need to move from:
Front Squat 👉 Reverse Lunge To Balance
or SL Squat Trap Bar Deadlift 👉 SL DB Deadlift
Bench Press 👉 Push Up with IsoHold
Happy Training,
Coach M
