EOTW: How To Practice Butterfly Crawl Off Ice

I know many of you have limited access to ice and you might not have a slideboard that you can use.  I also know that some of you struggle with your lateral push when you have one pad down, so today I have an exercise that you can do on basically any smooth surface.

Start Slow

When I give this one to goalies in the RevCon gym, their tendency is to start off to quickly – I think it is harder to stabilize through the lead hip when you go slowly, so start slowly, get a full push and then you can build speed into the movement.

Start with 2-3 sets of 10-15 pushes in each direction.
